For the Leeke People
Our wigs shipped! Yaaaaay. Should be here by the middle of next week as long as they don't get held up in customs.

New Girls
Through sheer chance, I stuck Pullips Veritas, Lunatic Queen, and Bloody Red Hood next to each other on my desk. Once they were that close, I was shocked by how similar they seem to me.

Leekeworld GO
5/26/12 The wigs have shipped! They're coming EMS (EM144332083KR), so as long as they don't decide to take a vacation in customs, I should have them by the end of next week.

5/17 Someday these wigs will ship. I have faith. I guess today is really only the 24th business day...sigh. 5/9 Still "Prepare for an Order". I guess it really is going to take the full 30 business days.

EDIT 5/2 We're still "preparing for an order". Sigh.

EDIT 4/17 Just wanted to let everyone know our status is "Prepare for an order" which I think means they're getting our stuff ready. For the preorder colors, it said 25-30 working days after the order was received and I sent our order on 4/12. :)

Leekeworld has some really pretty Spring colors coming out and I have a doll (or two) who could use a new wig. Would anyone be willing to go in with me to save on shipping?

Feel free to pass this offer along to anyone you feel would be a good addition. I have a postal scale now, too, so I can get better shipping estimates and offer international shipping. :) I don't mind if anyone wants anything other than wigs, but it has to be in stock and not make shipping more expensive. The spring color wigs are the only preorder items that are ok.

The website: http://www.leekeworld.us

If you're interested, when it comes time to place the order I'll need an email/comment with the following

User Name:
Wigs (wig name, size, and color. I don't think we can do direct links from Leeke):
If you're getting anything else please list it here with the name so I can find it:
Subtotal:

I'll figure out shipping and give you a final price before you send payment.

If you can send payment via Paypal as personal that will be really great. If you're not comfortable doing so, please let me know so I can figure out the fees.

I'd like to do this by April 10th? So that's about a week. If you need longer please let me know.

Oh Monster High...
So, so frustrated with Monster High right now. I ordered two Skull Shores Draculauras, a Skull Shores Abbey, Cupid, and the Howleen/Clawdeen pack over the course of the past two or three weeks.

ALL of them have flawed eyes. Every single one has some kind of eye screening issue. The Clawdeen in the two-pack is the worst. She obviously has two differently sized eyes as well as wonky placement. The Abbey and Cupid are more subtle, but both still bother me. The Draculauras are somewhere in the middle.

At this point I think I'm done with Monster High. I also have three Operettas and two of the three have slightly off eye placement. I took the one with the best eyes, but she has messed up victory rolls. I can't find these dolls in stores, so my only option is to order online. If I can't trust Mattel to produce ONE perfect doll in 9 purchases then I just can't trust them at all. It's a shame because I love the idea of Monster High, but I'm sick of constantly being disappointed.

I think I'm going to try one more time for the Howleen pack because I love her and I need two torsos for two CAM girls, but after that I would have to think long and hard about purchasing anymore MH dolls.

Oh, and I haven't messaged them yet, but I recommend not purchasing from 5stardeals11 on eBay. I bought my Cupid from them and she arrived in a padded envelope. Needless to say, her box is utterly destroyed. I'm upset that a rare item (and the seller acknowledged that she's hard to find) was shipped in such a way. I haven't decided yet if I want to send her back or just leave a neutral.

Pictures of the Rengeration Pullips are up on the Groove blog now. The pictures are small so it's difficult to make out any face-up details so I can't really make a judgement call. Of the four, I think Fanatika looks the worst. Like I said, it's a small picture, but it seems like her eye makeup is all wrong. The original Fanatika almost looks like she has upturned eyes. I call it a Cheshire Cat face and find it kind of unsettlingly mischievious. It could be the angle they photographed the Regeneration Fanatika, but it looks like her eyemakeup is a lot less bold than the original.

Moon looks very different. Not sure if that's good or bad.

I think Alice and Anne look the most like their originals, but I guess that makes sense. They have sweet faceups much like what Groove seems to like now for newer dolls. I actually am kind of interested in Anne depending on the price of these girls.

My #1 hope right now is that these sell well so Groove produces a Paja so I can harvest her outfit and wig for my original Paja. Mwahaha.

Pullip Regeneration Series
Groove announced today that they are going to be doing a Pullip Regeneration series. They are going to reproduce popular, soldout models starting in March. All of these repros are going to be on the T4, will have special packaging, and are going to be produced in quantities of 500.

First up in March are Fantastic Alice and Fanatika. Coming in April are Anne Shirley and Moon.

I'm veeeery interested in seeing if they faithfully reproduce the makeup (especially on Moon) or if these girls are produced using the new production standards. I also wonder what kind of prices these girls are going to sell at. I guess we'll find out when Doll Show 33 rolls around because they're going to have a booth there.

Morning edit because I was thinking about this last night. The fact that these girls are being produced on the T4 mean that they're all going to have the new neck placement and two-part head. The older girls definitely have their flaws, but producing them this way makes them feel like brand new dolls and not repros of their old selves. Let's say I buy the T4 Fanatika, she's still not the same girl because she isn't going to have that spunky tilt to her head that the T2s get. Instead, she'll have that demure, looking down T4 thing going on.

And imagine if they give one of the new, highly airbrushed faceups to Moon.

I think it may have been better to call these girls something like "ver. 2" or "Neo" like they did for Neo Noir. These aren't going to be the same girls. No way. They are going to be good tributes to the originals. I wish Groove was going all the way with these girls and producing them on their original bodies as well simply because of how aesthetically different the T4 is. I always feel a twinge of sorrow when I see new collecters with all two-part head girls. There's an undeniable charm to the older girls that isn't enjoyed as much as it used to be. As much as I love my Neo Noir and Ddalgi (my two obitsu'd T4 girls) no one can ever convince me that they're more charming than my Assa or my Jupi.

Picture Round-Up
I've been trying to get back into taking pictures. I cleaned recently and now have some decently lit surfaces to work with so that should help. Anyway, here's what I've been uploading for the last month or so. I put things on flickr then forget to put them here.

Doll Peddlar
Merry Christmas if you're celebrating!

I just found out that The Doll Peddlar (http://www.dollpeddlar.com/index.php?cPath=1345) still has Pullip Kirsche in stock for a decent price so I, uh, bought myself one last Christmas present. What happened to slimming down my collection?

Anyway, they also have Mir in stock for $88 and My Melody for $108. Much better than Pullip Style in case anyone is still looking for those girls. They also have Haute NY and Eos for not-so-great prices. Feel free to pass this knowledge on if you know of anyone who's looking. I don't like to do announcement posts on forums because I feel like that opens the door for scalpers to scoop them all up.

Also, Pullip Style is taking preorders for a January restock of Chelsea, Naomi, and Elisabeth. Not the greatest prices on any of them but a hell of a lot better than recent eBay prices.

Pullip Eyelashes
So, uh, I once read that you can use a hot needle to curl fake eyelashes. I'm working on Pullip rebeautification today and decided to try it on my poor Panda Stella.

It doesn't work. I singed all of her eyelashes right off. XD;;

It's a quick fix, thankfully. I was going to go to Target today anyway so I'll get some new fake lashes while I'm there. Good to know the hot pin method doesn't work!

In other news, I'm going to try Dolly Market again to sell some of my dolls. Wish me luck.
